Students who choose to transfer to Mt. Tallac High School are seeking a different pathway to completing their education. At Mt. Tallac, we foster a culture of community and belonging where students feel supported and safe. By addressing basic needs first, we create an environment where true learning and personal growth can take place.
Preparing Students for the Future
Our staff work closely with students to prepare them for life after graduation. Whether pursuing further education at a trade school, community college, or university—or choosing to join the workforce, an internship, or the military—we help students take their next steps with confidence.
Recognizing that many students balance work and school, our program integrates practical life skills instruction to better prepare them for the challenges ahead.
Unique Program Requirements
To graduate from Mt. Tallac High School, students complete:

Internship, work experience, or job shadowing hours (outside of the school day)

Industry-recognized certifications to increase employability

21st-century skills training directly applicable to the workplace
Real-World Opportunities
Mt. Tallac students gain hands-on experience across many LTUSD departments, including:

Grounds & Maintenance (electrical, plumbing, carpentry)

Clerical support at school sites and the District Office

Food Services, Transportation, IT, and Auto Services

Career Technical Education (CTE) and elementary school aide/mentor positions
