LTUSD Hall of Distinction

The Lake Tahoe Unified School District Hall of Distinction is to recognize former students, former employees, and major contributors/volunteers who have distinguished themselves by their individual contributions in scholarship, athletics, student activities, career, community service, and/or service to the school community as a whole. Nominations for 2024 will be accepted from September 2, 2024, until November 22, 2024. Please check back in for the link to the nomination form on September 2, 2024.


Time Frame:
 

The submission process for nominations will begin September 1, 2024 and go through November 22, 2024. 

- The selection committee will convene the Monday following Winter Break.

- Honorees will be notified of their selection in February 2024.

- Hall inductees will be recognized at a Special Board meeting in April and the Board will act on a resolution recognizing the inductees.

- Hall inductees will be honored at a special event prior to the end of the school year.

- Hall inductees will have their name placed on the Hall of Distinction at the District Office and a plaque will be placed at the site of their major contribution.

Eligibility/Nomination Criteria:

Former Student Inductee:
-
 A former student becomes eligible for nomination ten (10) years after leaving LTUSD schools  

- A former student must have earned individual recognition at a District school for his/her scholastic achievements, athletic accomplishments, ASB activities, or community service

- A former student must have earned individual recognition after leaving LTUSD schools by his/her postsecondary scholastic achievements, athletic accomplishments, career/professional accomplishments, military service, or community service

- A former student must have an exemplary life of community service and good character reflecting credit to the person, the school, and the community

Retired Employee or Former Employee:
A retired or former employee becomes eligible for nomination five (5) years after leaving LTUSD 

- A retired or former employee must have evidence of an outstanding career within the District

- A retired or former employee must have had a direct and significant impact on scholastics, athletics, or other student-centered activities

- A retired or former employee must have had an exemplary life of community service and good character

Distinguished Service Inductee:
The Distinguished Service nominee is not required to have graduated from LTUSD, but is a local citizen, local business person, or a former employee of the District that made extraordinary contributions to the District resulting in significant benefit or exceptional honor to the District or one of its schools

- This nominee may have demonstrated a variety of volunteer/service activities for the District

-This nominee may have contributed to charitable activities/events or services that contributed to the success of the District
