	August 13, 2007	Lake Tahoe Unified School District is pleased to announce that a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony has been scheduled for Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. to celebrate the official opening of the new Community Youth Sports Complex located at South Tahoe Middle School. 	February 28 , 2007	Lake Tahoe Unified School District announced today that Park Cattle Company, a diversified real estate company with holdings in the Carson Valley and Stateline, Nevada, including Edgewood Golf Course, Edgewood Water Company and the Park Ranch, has committed $100,000 towards the construction of a Community Youth Sports Complex.. 	February 26, 2007	Partnering with the Lake Tahoe Unified School District, the City of South Lake Tahoe, and numerous community supporters, El Dorado County has been awarded a $100,000 grant to help in the District’s efforts to construct a Community Youth Sports Complex, complete with a new track and field at South Tahoe Middle School . 	August 31, 2006	The El Dorado County Office of Education announces Adult Education classes to be offered in South Lake Tahoe. The location of these classes will be announced by Sept. 13th. Classes will begin the week of September 18th and will end the week of December 11th. Classes will not be held on November 10th, 23rd and 24th. (PDF)
	August 14, 2006	Lake Tahoe Unified School District today announced its policy for providing free and reduced-price meals for children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. Each school and/or the central office have a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party . (PDF)
	July 14, 2006	Children entering kindergarten in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District in September need to be registered at their local school. Parents are to register their children at their designated elementary school. Boundaries are available for viewing at www.ltusd.org or a map can be picked up at the Education Center (1021 Al Tahoe Boulevard). (PDF)
	July 11, 2006	The Board of Education of the Lake Tahoe Unified School District has approved the recommendation to offer employment to Mrs. Ivone Larson as the Principal of South Tahoe High School, effective August 1, 2006 at an annual salary of $95,697. (PDF)

	June 21, 2006	Lake Tahoe Unified School District Hires CFO - For the 2005/2006 school year, the District has functioned without a CFO, utilizing the services of Teresa Ryland, CPA. The District advertised the position and was fortunate to find Debra Yates as a candidate for Chief Financial Officer. (PDF)
	June 7, 2006	Lake Tahoe Unified School District has received notification from its insurance provider, AETNA, that there may be an increase of 29.7%, or approximately $1 million, on October 1st when the medical insurance plan is renewed for 2006/07. (PDF)
	May 6, 2006	The INDEPENDENT LEARNING ACADEMY will open its doors in September at the Al Tahoe Learning Center, 1100 Lyons Avenue, South Lake Tahoe. The academy will welcome students from Kindergarten to 12th Grade who wish to enjoy an enriching educational environment that is more flexible than the traditional school setting. The INDEPENDENT LEARNING ACADEMY’s vision is to provide a program that is flexible enough to meet the needs of a variety of independent learners from college prep high school students to elementary and middle school home schooled students, and other independent learners. 	March 31, 2006	Registration for students entering kindergarten for the 2006/2007 school year will be held at all public elementary schools in April. 	March 30, 2006	South Tahoe Educators Association (STEA) and the Lake Tahoe Unified School District entered their first day of negotiations on March 29, 2006. After four-and-ahalf hours of discussions, both sides are pleased to announce that they have come to a mutual agreement on behalf of students, staff, District, and the community to institute a Full-Day Kindergarten Program for the 2006/2007 school year.
