Wendy David has dedicated more than 35 years to the welfare of children and families. She was a Co-Director of Tahoe Parents Nursery School for 14 years, and 10 years as site manager for CASA El Dorado, advocating for the best interests of children in the dependency court system. She still advocates for these children as a CASA.
Wendy has a Bachelor’s degree from Chico State in Social Sciences and has used her experience, knowledge and passion to initiate and lead many boards, organizations and Commissions. She participated in founding Bread and Broth, Tahoe Magic, and the SLT Cabinet of the El Dorado Community Foundation, all three which she is active in. She serves as a Commissioner to First Five El Dorado, is an appointed member on the Child Abuse Prevention Council, is a liaison to the Lake Tahoe Education Foundation, a member of Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra, and facilitates the Lake Tahoe Collaborative. Wendy’s leadership is most apparent as a Governing Board Member for Lake Tahoe Unified School District, having served from 1997 to the present.
Wendy believes that communities are only as strong as their community members and that we each have a responsibility to contribute for the health and future of South Lake Tahoe. Public education is a cornerstone for our future and that of our children.
Wendy and her husband, Kerry, have four children and four grandchildren which she also feels passionate about!
