Sue Novasel - Board president

Sue Novasel was born and raised in Salinas, California where she attended public school and graduated from Salinas High School. She attended Lake Tahoe Community College and received a Bachelors Degree from the University of Nevada, Reno.

As a parent with children that attended local public schools, she served as a PTA President and Treasurer at Meyers Elementary School and South Tahoe Middle School. Sue is an active member of her community and is dedicated to the improvement of educational opportunities for all children and families. She is a board member of the Lake Tahoe Boys & Girls Club, member of the Soroptimist of South Lake Tahoe, past president of the Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation, and current chairperson of the Meyers Community Roundtable Committee.

She was first elected to the Lake Tahoe Unified School District Board of Education in 2003 and was reelected to another 4-year term in the fall of 2007. Sue was the Board Clerk in 2007 and is the current Board President

Wendy David - Board Member

Wendy David is the site manager and senior case manager with CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA provides advocacy for children that are part of the Court system, usually through no fault of their own. She has served in that capacity for over eight years but has been a passionate advocate for children and families for the past 35 years in South Lake Tahoe. She currently serves on Child Abuse Prevention Council for El Dorado County, is a Commissioner for First Five of El Dorado County, facilitates the Lake Tahoe Collaborative and is in her third term as a governing Board Member for Lake Tahoe Unified School District.

Wendy believes that communities are only as strong as the each community member. She supports her community through serving on the South Lake Tahoe cabinet of the El Dorado Community Foundation, supporting and working with the Lake Tahoe Education Foundation, membership in Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra, cooking for Bread and Broth and working with Tahoe Magic which helps families in crisis throughout the year.
